Ignace de Souza & Black Santiago (feat. Danialou Sagbohan, 1973)

As I told you in my last post, Miguelito died in a car accident with Ignace de Souza in 1987 (Ignace de Souza would die one year later, because of his injuries). Before this, Ignace wrote us the most beautiful page of African music history. Here is an example with his first Benin's recording from 1973. Danialou Sagbohan sings and plays drums and percussions on:

"Zangbeto" which means, in Fon language, "night watchman". In the ancient kingdoms of Benin, they played teh role of policeman. Zangbeto's mask can be seen in the daytime, they execute "magic" tricks. But at night, Zangbeto is known only by initiated people. I can't tell you more...
