Stanislas Tohon modernized the traditional Tchinckoumé rhythm and called it "Tchink System". This album originally recorded in 1979 on Sacodis, was also released on Stan's own label. His music is powerfull, all titles emit an energy coming from Tchinckoumé rhythm but also because of Stan's exceptional musicians like his guitarist Dizi Mageco. The sound is heavy and warrior like Tohon himself.

Je trouve que sa musique est vraiment puissante. Tous les morceaux dégagent une energie propre au Tchinckoumé mais aussi grâce aux musiciens exceptionnels de Stan comme son guitariste Dizi Mageco. Le son est lourd et guerrier à l'image de Tohon.

I have not downloaded the album yet, I came just to say thank you for such a beautiful picture.
I just gave this a good listen and it's incredible! Do you have anymore info on this group? I first noticed on Djamo Djamo then other tracks that Tohon frequently sings in a dialect of Manding (as far as I can tell Bamanankan).
I never knew the language family stretched so far across the region! Thanks for the great album.
If you hadn't told me, I woulda guessed this was a Benin/Cote d'Ivoire hybrid based on the languages and sounds: Kadiogo specifically sounds like vocals from a Coupe Decale.

You are true, there is something like soukous rhythm in some titles. I think that the guitarist is Congolese, but I am not sure.
